Is he subtly issuing a warning, perhaps aware that something akin to the depicted crisis may be looming on our horizon?

At the time of viewing, I wasn’t aware of the Obamas’ involvement, prompting me to plan a second viewing in the future to see if that knowledge brings me any different perspective of the film’s events. Also, I hadn’t been aware the movie was based on a book, and I’ve learned there are a few significant differences between the two presentations. Enough so that I definitely intend to read the book to see if it fills in any of the gaps left by the movie.
Ultimately, “Leave The World Behind” is a compelling film, leaving an enduring impression that will linger in my thoughts and fuel conversations for a long time to come!
